Kent Bertilsson, Ph.D.

Kent Bertilsson, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Kent currently works as a Scientific Software and Algorithm Developer at IP-Solutions AB, where they specialize in camera evaluations, computer vision algorithms, and Java development. Prior to this, Kent worked as a senior SW developer at Toptracer AB, where they focused on golf ball physics, computer vision, tracking, computer 3D graphics, optimization, and algorithms. Kent also worked on Doppler radar signal processing and algorithms, as well as GPU golf physics simulations.

Before joining IP-Solutions AB, Kent held various roles at Infinera, Transmode Systems AB, HiQ Stockholm AB, Alfa Exx AB, NOW Electronics AB, Doktor Kent, Micronic Laser Systems, Cisco Systems Sweden AB, and the Swedish Defence Research Agency. These roles involved responsibilities such as opto engineering, software development, research, and system design. Throughout their career, Kent has demonstrated expertise in areas such as computational photonics, software development in C++, and DWDM system and network design.

Kent Bertilsson, Ph.D. obtained their M.Sc. in Engineering Physics with a specialization in photonics and microwave technologies from Chalmers University of Technology from 1983 to 1987. Kent then went on to pursue a Ph.D. at the same institution from 1988 to 1994. Their Ph.D. research focused on the field of Photonics, specifically on "Optical Amplifiers and their Applications in Nonlinear Fiber-Optic Communication Systems."
