Jamie Vernaelde is a Senior Researcher at Ipas since September 2021, where responsibilities include coordinating a global program addressing backlash to sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), LGBTQI rights, and human rights, along with producing reports and presenting findings to various international stakeholders. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Research and Policy Analyst at PAI, focusing on health and human rights, and as a Researcher at Lumos, where significant research involved documenting abuses in Haitian orphanages. Additionally, Jamie held the position of Senior Coordinator at Human Rights Watch, leading research on street children in Uganda and contributing to numerous projects across East Africa. Educational achievements include a Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University, a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of California, Davis, and an International Certificate in European Studies from Sciences Po.
