Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario
Stephanie Lund has diverse professional experience across various roles in the service and legal sectors. Currently serving as a Program Assistant at the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario since December 2021, Stephanie previously worked as a Law Clerk and Paralegal Intern at Magna Carta Legal Services from October 2020 to December 2021. Prior experience includes a Senior PetsHotel Associate role at PetSmart, where Stephanie managed a team of associates and enhanced client relationships, and a Day Camp Counselor position at YMCA of Greater Toronto, leading activities for children and addressing behavioral issues. Stephanie also served as a Service/Kitchen Assistant at Brock University Students' Union, ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with health standards. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child & Youth Studies from Brock University and completed further education at Humber College from 2019 to 2020.

Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario
The role of the Information and Privacy Commissioner is set out in three statutes: the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Personal Health Information Protection Act. The IPC acts independently of government to uphold and promote open government and the protection of personal privacy. Under the three Acts, the Information and Privacy Commissioner: - Resolves access to information appeals and complaints when government or health care practitioners and organizations refuse to grant requests for access or correction; - Investigates complaints with respect to personal information held by government or health care practitioners and organizations; - Conducts research into access and privacy issues; - Comments on proposed government legislation and programs; and - Educates the public about Ontario’s access and privacy laws.
