Jake Foytik

Jake Foytik has a diverse work experience in computer vision and engineering. Jake is currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering at IPConfigure Inc., a position they have held since June 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at the same company as the Director of Computer Vision, where they were responsible for developing media pipelines, RTSP playback and proxy servers, and analyzing video content.

Before joining IPConfigure Inc., Jake worked at Port Solution Integrators as a Computer Vision Engineer. In this role, they developed imaging portals for process automation in the container shipping and intermodal industries. Jake also created optical character recognition systems and a container identification system using IP surveillance cameras and computer vision algorithms.

Jake has also gained research experience at the University of Dayton and Old Dominion University. As a Research Assistant at the University of Dayton, they developed algorithms for estimating head orientation and researched pose-sensitive image representations. At Old Dominion University, they implemented a real-time face recognition system and a face tracking system using Haar-based detectors and Kalman trackers.

Additionally, Jake gained early work experience as an intern at the Virginia Modeling Analysis and Simulation Center.

Jake Foytik's education history begins in 2003 when they enrolled at Old Dominion University to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Jake successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2007. After that, they decided to continue their academic journey and joined the University of Dayton in 2010. At the University of Dayton, they pursued a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering. However, their time at the University of Dayton was relatively short, and they completed their Ph.D. studies in 2011. Prior to their enrollment at the University of Dayton, Jake Foytik had already earned a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Old Dominion University in 2010.
