Sommer Bazuro, PhD is currently the Chief Medical Officer at IPG Health, starting in February 2023. Prior to this, they held various roles at FCB Health, including Chief Medical Officer from September 2020 to March 2023. Sommer also served as the EVP, Executive Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs from August 2018 to September 2020, and as the EVP, Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs from June 2017 to August 2018. From January 2017 to June 2017, they were the SVP Director of Medical & Scientific Affairs, and from May 2015 to December 2016, they were the SVP, Medical Director. Before joining FCB Health, they worked at Prohealth, a division of FCB Health, where they held various positions, including VP, Medical Director from April 2013 to April 2015. Sommer also served as the Group Medical Director from February 2012 to April 2013, Senior Medical Director from July 2010 to February 2012, and Medical Director from October 2009 to June 2010. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Scientific Associate at Ogilvy Healthworld from September 2008 to September 2009. Sommer also served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from December 2005 to September 2008. Sommer Bazuro completed their graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, where they worked as a Graduate Student from 2000 to 2005.
Sommer Bazuro, PhD, holds a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from Yale University. Sommer later completed their PhD in Cancer Biology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Sommer Bazuro also attended Long Beach High School. Sommer is a certified member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), as of 2019.
