Juan Fernández Vicente

Photonic Integrated Circuit Design Manager at iPronics Programmable Photonics

Juan Fernández Vicente has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Juan currently works at iPronics Programmable Photonics as a Hardware Manager, where they are responsible for designing and supporting the electronics needed to connect a photonic chip with external electronic elements. Juan is also involved in the implementation of programmable circuits using the company's photonic FPGA.

Before joining iPronics, Juan worked at VLC Photonics. During their time there, they held various roles including Doctorando Industrial, where they focused on demonstrating a reconfigurable AWG in a Nitride platform for various applications. Juan also worked as a Photonic Integrated Circuit Design Engineer, where they designed and analyzed PICs for different materials and developed Process Development Kits (PDKs) for designing PICs.

Prior to their time at VLC Photonics, Juan had a brief stint as a trainee at the group of Telecomunicación de Bomberos Valencia and worked as a referee for the Liga Profesional de Fútbol. Juan also worked as a Monitor at Expojove.

Juan Fernández Vicente completed their education at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). From 2011 to 2015, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Engineering of Technologies and Telecommunication Services, specializing in Communication Systems. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Telecommunications Engineering from 2015 to 2017.
