Teresa Harding

Teresa Harding is the mayor of Ipswich City Council. Teresa was previously the director of the Open Data Office for the Queensland Government from October 2015 to April 2020. In this role, they led the whole of Queensland Government approach to open data and coordinated open data policy and initiatives across government agencies. Under their leadership, Queensland's ranking in Australia's Regional Open Data Census improved to 2nd place in Australia in the number of open datasets, the quality of open data, the level of institutional support for open data, and the real-world use of government open data. Teresa also facilitated Queensland's best results for the annual Australian and New Zealand GovHack Awards.

Teresa Harding has a long and varied educational career. Teresa began their studies with a Defence and Industry Study Course at the Department of Defence. Teresa then went on to earn a Graduate Certificate in Information Technology from UNSW. After that, they completed a Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Teresa then went on to earn their Master of Management in Defence Studies from the University of Canberra. Teresa also passed the Staff College (Joint) from the Australian Command and Staff College. Additionally, Teresa holds a Diploma of Management in Defence Studies from the University of Canberra and a Certificate in Small Business Enterprises from Sydney TAFE. Finally, they have a Diploma of Fashion Manufacturing from the Sydney Institute of TAFE.
