Siân Skevington

Head Of Safeguarding And Inclusion at Ipswich Town FC

Siân Skevington has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Siân started their career as a Police Officer in Suffolk Constabulary from June 1991 to June 1997. Siân then worked as a Class Teacher at Great Barton Primary School from September 2005 to June 2008. From April 2009 to January 2017, Siân served as the Deputy Head Teacher at Risby C E V C P School before joining Ipswich Town FC in March 2020. At Ipswich Town FC, they have held various roles, including Head Of Education & SEP Coordinator/Academy Designated Safeguarding Officer from March 2020 to March 2022, Head of Safeguarding and ED&I lead from March 2022 to December 2023, and currently serves as the Head of Safeguarding and Inclusion.

Siân Skevington completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in French Language and Literature at the University of Nottingham from 1982 to 1984. Siân then pursued a Bachelor of Education (BEd) with Honors in Education at Nottingham Trent University, graduating in 1988. In 2014-2015, they obtained a PG Cert in Special Education and Teaching from the University of Hertfordshire. Currently, they are working towards a PG Cert in Leading Culture Change in Safeguarding at the University of Worcester, with an expected completion date in 2023. Prior to their university education, Siân attended Hawarden High School. Apart from their formal education, they hold certifications in QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) obtained in 1988 from the Department for Education, Level 5 safeguarding Managers from Safeguarding Associates for Excellence, and Mental Health First Aider from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England.
