Kaustuv Das has extensive work experience in intellectual property law and has held various roles throughout their career. Kaustuv currently serves as the Vice President and IP Counsel at IPValue, where they are responsible for providing legal advice and making strategic prosecution decisions. Kaustuv previously worked at Intellectual Ventures as the Chief Counsel for Intellectual Property and later as the Director of IP Attorney, where they developed strategies for patent portfolio management and analyzed licensing and litigation strategies. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Attorney at Intellectual Ventures. Before joining Intellectual Ventures, Kaustuv worked at Perkins Coie LLP as an Attorney, where they received praise for their skills and work ethic. Kaustuv also gained experience in technology licensing at Micron Technology and worked on various joint development projects. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Attorney at Perkins Coie LLP and Merchant & Gould, where they handled patent and trade secret litigation and managed re-examination proceedings. Kaustuv began their legal career as an Associate at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, where they litigated cases involving patents, trade secrets, and unfair competition. In addition to their legal roles, Kaustuv has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Seattle University School of Law, where they co-taught a patent law course and designed the curriculum.

Kaustuv Das earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Vassar College between 1986 and 1989. Following this, from 1989 to 1994, they pursued further studies at Caltech and obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics. Later, they attended the University of Washington School of Law from 2000 to 2003, where they completed their Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a specialization in Intellectual Property.
