Richard Misiag

Vice President, Licensing at IPValue

Richard Misiag has over 30 years of experience in the field of licensing and intellectual property management. Richard began their career at AT&T Technologies/Lucent Technologies, where they served as an Engineering/Distinguished Member of Technical Staff from 1988 to 1996. Misiag then joined Lucent Technologies IPB as a Senior/Division Manager for Intellectual Property from 1996 to 2001. Richard went on to work at ThinkFire as a Director of Patent Licensing/Program Development from 2002 to 2003, and at Thomson Multimedia as an Executive Director of Licensing - Asia from 2003 to 2004. Misiag then joined General Electric as a Vice President of Licensing from 2004 to 2009. Richard later worked at Verizon Communications, where they held the positions of Director of Verizon Communications and President of Verizon Patent Licensing Inc. from 2009 to 2013. Misiag then joined Conversant Intellectual Property Management as a Vice President of Licensing and Board Member for Core/Conversant Wireless from 2013 to 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they served as the Head of Licensing at PanOptis, and currently, they are the Vice President of Licensing at IPValue. Throughout their career, Misiag has been involved in commercializing high-value patent portfolios and has worked with innovative enterprises in various technology areas, such as semiconductors, networking, telecommunications, computer systems, displays, and consumer electronics.

Richard Misiag pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology from 1984 to 1988. During their time there, they specialized in Power Conversion and Digital Theory. Later, in 1994, they joined Capital University and completed a Master of Business Administration degree in International Business in 1997.
