Sally started their career as a financial analyst for various companies. In 2004, they became a service delivery manager at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and held that position for two years. Sally then became a senior financial controller at the bank and held that role for two years before moving to Royal Bank of Scotland in 2008.

At Royal Bank of Scotland, Sally held several positions over four years, including head of central support team, assistant director, and vice president of global product management transaction filtering. In 2013, they left Royal Bank of Scotland to work as a senior consultant for Citizens Bank. The following year, they became an independent consultant and provided risk, compliance, and AML consulting services to various clients.

In 2015, Sally joined tmf group as the Director of Risk, Compliance, and AML Consulting. Sally held that role for three years before joining IQ-EQ in 2018 as the Group Chief Risk Officer.

Sally Alayarian has a bachelor's degree in law from the School of Psychology at the University of East London and a bachelor's degree in arts from the same school. Sally also has a certification from the Harvard Business School in Leadership for Senior Executives.
