Dr. Richard Wieser

Regional Medical Director at Iqarus

Dr. Richard Wieser has a diverse work experience in various medical and public safety roles. Dr. Richard is currently serving as the Chief Medical Advisor at International SOS since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Regional Medical Director at Iqarus from December 2017.

Before joining Iqarus, Dr. Wieser was the Medical Operations Manager at Princeton Medical Solutions from January 2016 to November 2017. Dr. Richard also has experience working as the HSE Country Medical Manager at Fluor Government Group, where they oversaw medical care for employees and local nationals in North Afghanistan.

Earlier in their career, Dr. Wieser worked as an Emergency Medicine physician at Newton Medical Center from January 2010 to September 2011. Dr. Richard also served as the Department Chair for Public Safety and Security at Georgia Piedmont Technical College from July 2008 to August 2011.

In addition, Dr. Wieser has a background in public safety and education. Dr. Richard worked as an Instructor at Flagler County Adult Education from March 1994 to August 2004 and as the Fire Rescue Operations Chief at Flagler County Emergency Services from October 1992 to August 2004. Dr. Richard also worked as a Public Safety Officer at Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety from January 1999 to June 2001.

Furthermore, Dr. Wieser has experience as a Paramedic at Mediquick Urgent Care from September 1999 to March 2003, where they were involved in the start-up and daily operation of an emergent walk-in clinic.

Dr. Richard Wieser completed their education in a variety of fields. Dr. Richard first attended Connetquot High School from 1984 to 1988 but did not earn a specific degree or field of study during this time. Later, they pursued an Associate's Degree in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) from Valencia College from 1995 to 1996. Dr. Richard then went on to obtain an Associate's Degree in Fire Science/Fire-fighting from Daytona State College between 1990 and 2004. Seeking further education, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Medicine/Pre-Medical Studies from the University of North Florida from 1998 to 2000. Finally, Dr. Wieser attended Xavier University School of Medicine from 2004 to 2008, where they completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree with a focus on Emergency Medicine.
