Mike Strong has extensive work experience as a Principal Software Engineer. Mike started their career at State Of Utah in 2004 as a Technical Support, and later became a Software Developer, where they played a key role in designing and developing software solutions for the Utah Driver License Division. In 2007, they worked at the LDS Church as a Software Engineer. From 2007 to 2009, they served as a Software Consultant at Software Technology Group. Mike then joined inthinc as a Sr. Software Engineer before moving to Software Technology Group again as a Software Engineering Consultant. From 2009 to 2020, they worked at Ecliptics Inc. as a Sr. Software Engineer, where they were involved in designing and developing enterprise web applications for the collections industry. During this time, they gained expertise in various technologies such as Java, Maven, Spring MVC, Spring Security, GWT, JPA, JavaScript, and jQuery. In 2020, they joined OSPInsight International as a Principal Software Engineer, leading a team in developing and maintaining geospatial software for mapping fiber networks. Mike introduced Keycloak and OIDC standards to replace a custom authentication service. Following that, they joined IQGeo in 2020 as a Principal Software Engineer before joining Plena Data in 2022. At Plena Data, they focused on improving the RPA software platform, implementing techniques to enhance scalability and enabling rolling updates. Additionally, they worked on scaling UI automated processes using playwright and selenium grid. In 2023, they returned to IQGeo as a Principal Software Engineer.
Mike Strong earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering from Weber State University between 2005 and 2007. Mike also has an Associate of Science degree in Computers from Salt Lake Community College. Additionally, they hold a certification as an Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer, from an undisclosed institution.
