Hermanni Heimonen

Technical Lead For Co-design Quantum Hardware at IQM

Hermanni Heimonen has a diverse work experience in the field of quantum technology and scientific research. Hermanni started working at IQM Quantum Computers in 2020 as a Quantum Engineer and later became the Technical Lead for Co-Design Quantum Hardware. Prior to that, they worked at the Centre for Quantum Technologies as a PHD Student, where their research focused on synchronisation in atomic and quantum systems. Hermanni also worked as a Project Assistant at the European Spallation Source, ESS AB, where they were involved in data analysis and image processing. Additionally, they gained experience as an Undergraduate Researcher at HKUST, focusing on econophysics and financial data analysis. Hermanni also completed an internship at the European Space Agency, where they developed an automated search procedure for spacecraft trajectories in the Jovian system.

Hermanni Heimonen completed their education as follows:

- From 2015 to 2020, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at the National University of Singapore.

- Between 2011 and 2014, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics and Mathematics from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

- Earlier, from 2008 to 2011, Hermanni Heimonen attended Mattlidens Gymnasium International Baccalaureate for their International Baccalaureate degree.

Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as Qiskit Advocate from IBM (in 2020), IBM Quantum Challenge from IBM (in 2020), and Quantum Machine Learning from edX (in 2019).
