Samir M. Patel

Co-Founder, Managing Partner at IRA Capital

Mr. Patel is a Principal and Co-Founder of IRA Capital. His primary responsibilities include directing IRA’s investment strategy and overseeing the firm’s equity relationships for IRA’s various co-investment programs. Throughout his career, Mr. Patel has been involved in the acquisition, financing, and development of transactions valued in excess of $2.5 Billion across product types. Prior to co-founding IRA Capital, Mr. Patel was active in developing retail real estate and has developed long-standing relationships with national tenants.

Prior to his ventures in real estate, Mr. Patel worked as an investment banking financial analyst at HSBC’s Debt Capital Markets Group in London and New York. He also worked at the Financial Restructuring Group for Houlihan Lokey Howard and Zukin in Chicago. Mr. Patel has worked on numerous restructurings, distressed mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, private placements, and valuations for corporations in and out of bankruptcy. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics and has a Masters in Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California. Mr. Patel is actively involved in numerous real estate organizations. He is also a frequent guest speaker at the University of Southern California.
