Nicole Bockstaller is the Head of Communications at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) since August 2018. Before joining IRENA, she served as a Press Officer for Energy and Climate Action at the European Commission. With a background in journalism and public relations, Nicole also worked as a Freelance Journalist for Stern.de and as a Public Relations Consultant at IFOK GmbH. She holds a Magister Artium (MA) in History from the University of Hamburg and has a diploma in French language from Aix-Marseille University.

IRENA promotes the widespread adoption and sustainable use of all forms of renewable energy, including bioenergy, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, solar and wind energy in the pursuit of sustainable development, energy access, energy security and low-carbon economic growth and prosperity.
