Thorben Rothe

Thorben joined the team in 2018. He is based in Berlin from where he is running early-stage investment activities in the German speaking countries.

Thorben is especially keen on major technology trends and new business models driving digital transformation.

Before joining Iris Capital, Thorben was a Principal at Capnamic Ventures, an independent German VC firm founded in 2013 by the former investment team of DuMont Venture that Thorben joined in 2010.

At Capnamic, he was responsible for launching the Berlin’s operations and investing in technology driven early-stage companies for the German speaking region. Previously, Thorben started his career in product management and business development for several German startups.

Thorben has a degree in Business Technology from the Technical University Munich (Germany) and studied at UCLA (USA), University of Melbourne (Australia) and Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Korea).
