Karen Byrne

Karen Byrne is an experienced quality and compliance professional with a strong background in the blood transfusion and pharmaceutical sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Quality and Compliance at the Irish Blood Transfusion Service since October 2018, Karen previously held the position of National Quality Assurance Manager. Prior to this role, Karen worked at The Australian Red Cross Blood Service as a Regional Quality Coordinator from June 2014 to September 2018. Earlier career experiences include serving as Quality Manager at BASF from July 2011 to June 2014 and various roles at Pfizer, including Quality Group Leader, Quality Analyst, and Customer Service Representative from January 2006 to November 2010. Karen holds a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from University College Dublin, completed in 2005.
