PARC
Les Nelson is a Research Scientist at PARC since November 2004, focusing on Human-Computer Interaction with an emphasis on mobile and social technologies to promote healthy behavior change and enhance workplace collaboration. Current research includes assessing technology acceptance for augmented reality and artificial intelligence systems. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Research Scientist at FX Palo Alto Laboratory from July 1995 to November 2004, where research concentrated on socio-technical design in human-computer interaction, including social computing and tangible computing. Earlier in the career, Les Nelson worked as a Data Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin from January 1988 to July 1995, researching software engineering practices for mission-critical systems. Les Nelson holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earned between 1979 and 1982.
