Morad Behandish

Morad Behandish has extensive work experience in research and management roles. Morad started their career as a Machine Tool Operator at Sepehr Press Co. in 2004. Morad then worked as an Intern Engineer at Tarh Negasht Co. in 2006 and at Berkeh Pumps in 2008.

In 2010, Behandish joined the University of Connecticut as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant. Morad'sresearch focused on developing an analytical framework for geometric modeling. Morad also served as a Graduate Student Senate EC Member and Senator.

In 2011 and 2012, Behandish worked as a Research Intern at Bentley Systems, where they developed surrogate modeling frameworks and optimized the operation and control of water distribution systems.

From 2016 to 2017, Behandish was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at ICSI - International Computer Science Institute. Morad'swork involved developing a formal framework for the interoperability of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) systems.

Since 2017, Behandish has been working at PARC, starting as a Research Scientist/Engineer and progressing to roles such as Senior Research Scientist, Research Area Manager, and Interim Research Director. Morad has led multiple projects on topics such as artificial intelligence-assisted design and hybrid manufacturing analysis. Morad has also played a key role in securing funding and collaborating with business development teams.

Currently, Behandish holds the position of Senior Manager and Associate Director at SRI International since May 2023. Overall, they have demonstrated a strong background in research, leadership, and project management throughout their career.

Morad Behandish's education history begins with their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran, which they obtained between the years 2004 and 2008. Morad then pursued further education at the University of Connecticut, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from 2011 to 2016. Simultaneously, they also obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from the same university between the years 2010 and 2016.
