Stephen O’Beirne

Stephen joined the IWA as Company Secretary in January 2016, where he has responsibility for all governance-related matters.

Following attending U.C.D. where he graduated with a B. Comm. and H. Dip. in Ed. in 1978, he initially worked as a secondary school teacher for a year. He then gained a position with the Health Boards (now HSE) where he worked mainly in the areas of Finance and Statistics. He subsequently qualified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and in 2005 moved to the newly formed HSE as Management Accountant for the Dublin North City Area with responsibility for budgeting and forecasting including Section 39 Voluntary Agencies.

He retired in 2015 following 36 years of service with the HSE before commencing with IWA in 2016.
