Rhys McNeill

Rhys McNeill has worked in the Information Technology industry since 2020. In 2020, they began working as a Level II Advanced Threat Security Support Engineer at IBM, where they gained experience with troubleshooting Traefik, Docker, Vault-qrd, si-registry, conman, tomcat, and hostcontext. Rhys also developed support tools for engineers, created KCS documents, and liaised with development and higher management. In 2022, they moved to IriusRisk as a DevSecOps Support Engineer, where they gained experience with threat modelling and worked in the EMEA DevSecOps team, helping IriusRisk clients with functional, backend, and integration issues. Rhys also gained exposure to AWS (EC2 Linux instance), S3 Buckets, SOAR, User Behaviour Analytics, Threat Intelligence, and the MITRE ATT&CK Framework.

Rhys McNeill attended Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College from 2011 to 2018, where they obtained an A-Level in ICT, Travel and Tourism, and Double Award Science. In 2018, they began attending Ulster University, where they are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. In 2022, they obtained certifications from IBM in Think Like a Hacker, Containers & Kubernetes Essentials, and Intermediate Kubernetes Operators.
