Walter Karmo

System Engineer, Mobile Device Management at Iron Bow

Walter Karmo has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Walter started their career in 1998 at Output Printing and Graphics as a Prepress Technician, where they operated and repaired Linotronic machinery. Walter also performed quality assurance checks and developed production materials. In 2000, they transitioned to the role of Production Specialist, managing large production efforts and serving as a mentor to junior staff.

In 2007, Walter joined Cox Communications as an Inbound Sales Customer Care Representative. Walter managed incoming customer calls, assessed their needs, and provided administrative support to customer service functions. After three years, they moved to Cox Business as an Inside Sales Account Executive. In this role, they exceeded sales quotas, performed configuration and setup of customer products, and offered technological solutions to meet customer needs.

In 2015, Walter joined Iron Bow Technologies as a Tier 1 Help Desk Specialist, responsible for the daily operation of video teleconferencing and networking systems. Walter provided telephone support to end-users on hardware, software, and network issues. Walter later became a Tier 2 Sr. Service Desk Technician, delivering technical support to Department of Veterans Affairs customers, prioritizing issues, and mentoring first-tier technicians. Recently, in 2020, they took on the position of System Engineer, Mobile Device Management.

Throughout their career, Walter has demonstrated their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to customer service.

Walter Karmo completed their Bachelor's Degree in Technology Teacher Education/Industrial Arts Teacher Education from Virginia Tech from 1994 to 1998. Walter then obtained several additional certifications in different fields. In 2014, they became a Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching. In 2019, they achieved the Salesforce Certified Administrator (SCA) certification from Salesforce. In 2021, they obtained the VMware Certified Technical Associate - End-User Computing certification from VMware. In 2022, they acquired the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft. Finally, in 2023, they attained the Certified Technology Expert Self Hosted (Level 1) - Fundamentals certification from Pexip.
