Sean McDonald has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Sean started their career as an Assistant Engineer at Universal Instruments in 1987. Sean continued their co-op engineering roles at Niagra Mohawk and Mobil Chemical in 1989 and 1990, respectively. In 1991, Sean joined General Motors as a Development Engineer in Advanced Product & Process Engineering. Sean then progressed to the role of Technical Marketing, where they directed advanced marketing and product market plan activities. During their time at General Motors, Sean successfully identified product trends and customer/market needs, leading to enhanced growth. Sean also managed the end-of-lifecycle/sunset strategy for a cash cow product.
In 1999, Sean founded McDonald Motorsports, where they served as the Founder/Owner until 2004. In 2001, they joined Delphi as a Technical Marketing Planner, specializing in identifying portfolio gaps and deficiencies and aligning next-generation products with customer and market needs.
After Delphi, Sean transitioned to Delphi Automotive Systems as a Product Marketing Manager, revitalizing the inbound and outbound marketing effort for four product lines. Sean then joined Delphi Corporation in 2006 as a Global Marketing Manager, leading marketing and business development activities for a global business unit and three product lines.
In 2011, Sean started working at IronRidge, initially as a Distribution Account Manager and later as the Director of Distribution Sales. Sean played a crucial role in developing a sales team and channel model, resulting in significant revenue growth over a seven-year period. Since January 2022, Sean has served as the Chief Executive Officer at IronRidge, continuing to lead the company's sales activities and channel development.

Sean McDonald completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology from 1988 to 1991. Sean then pursued further education and obtained their Masters in Business Administration from Rochester Institute of Technology - Business School, specializing in Business Administration, from 1991 to 1996.
