JJ McCarthy currently serves as Talent at Irreducible, focusing on high-performance computation of zero-knowledge succinct proofs for blockchain protocols since September 2024. Previously, JJ McCarthy held the position of Head of Talent Acquisition at Matter Labs from March 2023 to August 2024, overseeing the recruitment of teams and managing strategic partnerships with investors like a16z and Dragonfly. Before that, JJ McCarthy worked at Meta from March 2018 to March 2023 as a Recruiting Manager, leading talent acquisition for various teams including Gaming and Research and Display technology. JJ McCarthy's earlier experience includes recruitment roles at Google and senior positions at CPL Solutions and TEKsystems. JJ McCarthy holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Birmingham and attended St Johns International School in Waterloo, Belgium.
