Johan Verwey

Johan Verwey is a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at The Coalition Studio, focusing on empowering game developers through machine learning and AI since February 2021. Previously, Johan held the position of Principal Research Software Engineer at Microsoft, where contributions spanned the Azure Bot Framework and the Machine Teaching Group, notably introducing functional programming principles to enhance system design. Early career experiences include roles as Senior Software Engineer at Warner Bros., Senior Software Developer at CAE Healthcare, Tools & Pipeline Lead at Immersion, and Gameplay Programmer at Ubisoft. Johan's academic background includes a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Stellenbosch University.
