A.D. Jenkins, who was elected to the Irving ISD Board of Trustees in May 2016, is serving on the school board for the third time. As a trustee from 2008 to 2011, Jenkins served on the policy review committee and personnel committee.
For many years, Jenkins has been an active volunteer for the district and at a number of schools, including all of the district’s high schools. He was honored as a PTA Life Member and a recipient of the NAACP Service Award for his commitment to the community. As a strong advocate of Irving ISD’s athletic programs, Jenkins has provided support to Irving ISD coaches and players for numerous years.
A native of Waterproof, La., Jenkins came to Irving in 1987 and graduated from DeVry University two years later with a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems. He currently works as a software engineer at Cima Solutions Group.
He is the father of three boys – Tevyn, Cameron and Jared – all who have attended Irving ISD schools. Jenkins also has been a father figure to many more students over the years and is the CEO/Founder of the B.I.G. D.O.G.S. Youth Organization.
