Mary Richarte

Trustee at Irving ISD

A longtime resident of Irving, Mary “Mariposa” Richarte has spent the last 25 years as an active member within the city and district. She has served in many different capacities within the community, including as a former board member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Richarte is passionate about the importance of parent involvement in schools and began serving Irving ISD as a PTA member and later president of the organization when her son was in middle school. Since then, she has held positions on numerous committees and councils ranging from Campus Improvement, Health Advisory, Parent Advisory, District Advisory, Strategic Planning, HIPPY Advisory, Superintendent Advisory and more. Her varied experiences have given her unique insight into the needs of students, parents and educators alike.
