Roy Zamora

Roy Zamora has a diverse background in education and leadership roles. Roy is currently the Director of Planning, Evaluation, & Research at Irving ISD since July 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Coordinator of Performance Outcomes at Irving ISD from July 2021 to August 2023. Roy also worked as a Teacher of 7th Grade Texas History & 8th Grade U.S. History at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts from July 2020 to July 2021. Roy Zamora has experience in education policy as an Education Policy Professional at Harvard University Graduate School of Education from August 2019 to May 2020. Before that, they were a Teacher of 10th Grade AP World History & 7th Grade Texas History at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts from December 2017 to May 2019. Roy began their career as a Student Teacher of Social Studies at R. L. Paschal High School from January 2017 to November 2017. Roy also served in the United States Air Force as an Engineering Specialist (3E5X1) - Supervisor/NCOIC Geobase from July 2011 to July 2017. Additionally, they gained teaching experience through Student Teaching/Observations at 11 different schools from August 2014 to December 2016. Roy Zamora has also worked as a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks from August 2014 to July 2015.

Roy Zamora's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education - Social Studies from Texas Christian University, obtained from 2014 to 2017. Following that, they pursued a Master of Education degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education, completed from 2019 to 2020. Currently, they are studying for a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Leadership Policy at Texas Tech University, anticipated to be completed from 2022 to 2026. Additionally, Roy has obtained certifications in TExES Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities EC-12 and TExES Social Studies 7-12 from the Texas Education Agency in 2017.
