Douglas Buchanan

Douglas Buchanan is the Director at Irving Resources. Douglas has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Douglas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Penn State University.

Douglas Buchanan began their career as a contract landman with Pioneer Natural Resources Company in April 2014. Douglas was responsible for drilling and division order title opinion curative, surface use agreement negotiations, and horizontal allocation well projections. Douglas left Pioneer Natural Resources Company in September 2015 to start their own company, D.N. Buchanan, Inc.

Buchanan Land Brokers, Inc. was founded in January 2010 by Douglas Buchanan. As president and field landman, they performed all phases of field land work throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Montana, and Texas. In April 2014, they sold the company to start D.N. Buchanan, Inc.

D.N. Buchanan, Inc. is a full-service oil and gas land management company that specializes in leasehold acquisitions, due diligence, title opinions, curative work, and lease administration in the Appalachian Basin and beyond.

Douglas Buchanan obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from The University of Texas at Austin. Douglas later obtained the RPL Designation from AAPL in 2013-2018.
