Alex Hemme

Alex Hemme has worked in the technology industry since 1992. Theirfirst role was as a Software Developer at ABB in 1992. Alex then moved to Natech (Pty) Ltd in 1993, where they worked as a Hardware Design Engineer, designing hardware and coding embedded software for financial devices for major banks. In 1996, they joined Scientific Atlanta as an Embedded Software Engineer, developing boot-code and low level software for commercial video decode and encode products. From 2005 to 2018, they worked at Cisco Systems, first as a Senior Software Engineer and then as a Technical Leader. In 2018, they joined iS5 Communications Inc. as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer and Technical Lead - Embedded Software.

Alex Hemme obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal between 1986 and 1989. Alex then went on to obtain a Master of Engineering (MEng) in the same field from the University of KwaZulu-Natal between 1990 and 1992.
