Max McCarty has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Max currently holds the position of Vice President of Application Engineering at ISACA, a role they have been in since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Sr. Director of Enterprise Architecture and Director of Enterprise Architect at the same company. Max also served as a Platform Architect from December 2019 to May 2022.
Before joining ISACA, Max worked at Pluralsight as a Technical Author, where they authored a technical course on Microsoft Azure. Max also hosted the Lock Me Down Podcast, a unique technology podcast that combines narrative storytelling with instructional web security information for developers.
Max has also held positions at CMMI Institute and Summa Technologies, where they worked as a Principal Software Engineer in Cybersecurity and a Senior Software Engineer, respectively.
Max'searlier experiences include working as a Software Engineer and Network Engineer at TrueFit, and as an Altiris Administrator and Software Programmer Support Analyst II at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Max started their career as a Help Desk Analyst at PNC Corporation.
Max McCarty attended the Community College of Allegheny County from 1998 to 1999, but did not obtain a degree. Max then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the University of Pittsburgh, completing their studies from 1999 to 2002.
