Andrea Jaime Albalat

Andrea Jaime Albalat has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of space industry and policy. They started their career as a Young Graduate Trainee at the European Space Agency in 2010. From there, they worked as a Nanotechnology Researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2010.

In 2011, Andrea joined the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) as a Deputy Executive Director, where they provided assistance to the Executive Director and prepared for the Executive Director position. They also served as the Executive Director of SGAC from 2012 to 2015, leading operations, business development, strategy, and policy output for this volunteer, non-profit organization.

In 2015, Andrea transitioned to OHB System as a Business Development Manager. In this role, they served as the Domain Manager in areas such as Human Spaceflight, Microgravity, and Exploration, and robotics, and worked on projects for the European Commission. Additionally, they founded OHB NextGen during their time at the company.

Currently, Andrea is working at Isar Aerospace as an Institutional Business Developer. They are responsible for business development, strategy, and future programs, with a focus on institutional customers in Europe and supporting sales for commercial customers worldwide.

Throughout their career, Andrea has demonstrated strong leadership skills, international representation, and event management capabilities in the space industry and policy.

Andrea Jaime Albalat has an extensive education history in the fields of business administration, space studies, and aerospace science and technology.

In 2004, Andrea obtained a Technical Engineering degree with a major in Aeronautical Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. This was followed by a Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from Wrexham Glyndŵr University in 2007.

In 2007, Andrea continued their education at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, completing a Master's degree in Aerospace Science and Technology from 2007 to 2009.

To further enhance their knowledge and expertise, Andrea pursued various specialized courses and programs. In 2009, they attended the Space Studies Program at the International Space University. In 2010, Andrea participated in a Short Course on Planetary Protection at IPPW - 7 in Barcelona, Spain, and a Training Course on Human Spaceflight at Teaching Science and Technology Inc. in The Netherlands.

In 2011, Andrea attended the CVA Summer School in Rome, Italy, focusing on Space Transportation - Launchers.

Most recently, in 2022, Andrea attended the IESE Business School and completed the Business Acceleration Programme (BAP), which provided a comprehensive understanding of business administration and management.

Additionally, Andrea obtained a certification in Business Development Foundations from LinkedIn in May 2020, further expanding their qualifications.
