Marla Shainberg

Marla Shainberg is a highly experienced Photoscreening Analyst at iScreen Vision since January 2022, specializing in the remote analysis of images for amblyopia risk factors in children. Prior to this role, Marla served as a Senior Certified Orthoptist at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, collaborating with pediatric and neuro-ophthalmology teams in diagnosing and treating ocular disorders. Marla's extensive background includes roles as an Orthoptist/Clinical Research Coordinator at Emory University, where specialized eye tests were performed, and as an Orthoptist at Visionary Eye Care, focusing on eye muscle disorders and amblyopia. Early career experience includes serving as a Certified Orthoptist and Instructor at Washington University in St. Louis, where Marla contributed to the education of ophthalmology residents and orthoptic students and published research in medical journals. Marla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from Indiana University Bloomington and is board-certified by the American Orthoptic Council.
