Melanie Smith

Head Of Research, ISD US at ISD (Institute for Strategic Dialogue)

Melanie Smith has extensive work experience in research, analysis, and intelligence. Melanie began their career in 2014 as an Associate Fellow at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence (ICSR). In 2015, they joined the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) as a Research Associate, later progressing to the roles of Research Coordinator, Research Manager, and Research Fellow. In 2018, Melanie also started working at Graphika, where they held positions as a Cyber Intelligence Analyst, Senior Analyst, Head of Analysis, and Director of Analysis. Melanie has expertise in digital analysis, research coordination, and strategic research.

Melanie Smith completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography with Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese from the University of Exeter in 2013. Prior to that, they attended Bancroft's School from 1999 to 2010 where they earned 3 A-Levels with outstanding grades (A*A*A). In 2014, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Geopolitics, Territory & Security from King's College London.
