Darshan R. has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies in the technology industry. Darshan began their career as a Consulting Software Engineer at E*TRADE Financial in 2000. Darshan then moved on to work as a Software Development Engineer and Consultant at SS8 Networks Inc., where they designed and developed clustered data access solutions for reliable messaging infrastructures.

Following this, Darshan joined Motorola Inc. as a Sr. Software Engineer before transitioning to Kineto Wireless Inc. as a Sr. Software Engineer. In this role, they designed and implemented a distributed database to achieve session persistence infrastructure for a WiFi/Cellular roaming use case, significantly improving throughput and reliability.

In 2006, Darshan joined Yahoo Inc. as a Principal Software Engineer, where they were a founding member of the Fraud Detection team. Darshan led cross-functional initiatives impacting revenue and implemented ML classifiers for click-fraud detection, search-spam protection, and quality-based-pricing.

Next, Darshan worked at D.E Shaw & Co. LLP as a Software Engineer, where they designed and developed real-time infrastructure software for managing UHFT trading sites under strict latency constraints. Darshan then joined YP (formerly Yellow Pages) as a Software Architect, where they integrated disparate systems into a unified API and led the unification of different platforms.

In 2011, Darshan became the VP of Engineering at Openwave Messaging, Inc., where they owned the platform roadmap and engineering functions. Darshan led multiple M&A events, stabilized deployments at Tier-1 Telcos, and delivered a reliable geo-redundant ChatBot platform.

From 2014 to 2016, Darshan worked at DataStax as the Sr. Director of Products, leading the product management function for commercial offerings based on open source projects such as Apache Cassandra, Apache SOLR, Apache Spark, Titan, and OpsCenter.

Finally, Darshan co-founded Isima.io in 2016 and held the roles of Founder and CPO, and later Founder and CEO. Darshan developed Isima's lean modern data stack, known as bi(OS), which enables real-time use cases using Clicks, Python, and SQL. The platform delivers API, AI, and BI use cases in days and offers the best price-performance on the cloud.

Throughout their career, Darshan has demonstrated their expertise in software engineering, product management, and entrepreneurship, making significant contributions to various organizations and industry-wide thought leadership.

Darshan R. obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai in 1998. Following this, they pursued an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Software Technology (APGDST) from the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC, formerly NCST) but the years of enrollment are not specified. In 2000, Darshan R. received the Sun Certified Programmer certification from Sun Microsystems. Later on, they attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2005 to 2007, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Software Management.
