Ian Pain has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Ian currently serves as the CFO of Isio Group, a prominent UK provider of actuarial, consulting, pensions administration, and investment advisory services. Prior to this role, they worked as the Group CFO at IPSX, a company dedicated to operating fully regulated commercial real estate exchanges. Ian also served as a Senior non-executive director at Gnewt Cargo Ltd, a zero-emission final mile delivery company, and played a crucial role in its sale to a trade competitor.

In the past, Ian held the position of CFO at DX (Group) plc, a leading parcel, mail, freight, and logistics group. During their tenure, they were part of the executive team that executed a refocused strategic plan, a capital restructuring, and multiple acquisitions, leading to a successful IPO.

Ian's expertise in financial management extends to their role as the CFO of Inprint Systems Ltd, a PE backed multinational manufacturer of specialist labels. Ian navigated the company through a cultural transition, completed international acquisitions, and facilitated a successful trade sale to an international competitor.

Earlier in their career, Ian worked as an Investment Director at PPM Ventures, where they played a pivotal role in investment sourcing, due diligence, transaction management, and exit preparations. Ian also worked as a Corporate Finance Manager at Charterhouse Bank, providing advice on IPOs, acquisitions, disposals, fundraising, and public offers.

Ian's professional journey began at Price Waterhouse, where they qualified as a Chartered Accountant and gained experience in audit and due diligence for multinational corporations. Ian also had a 6-month secondment to Milan during their time at the firm.

Ian Pain attended St Albans School from 1976 to 1981. After graduating from St Albans School, they went on to study at Ipswich School from 1981 to 1983. Finally, Ian Pain pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics & Accounting at the University of Bristol from 1983 to 1986.
