Chief Philanthropy Officer at Island Conservation

Heath Packard has a diverse work experience in the conservation and natural resources field. Heath started their career as a Field Director at the National Wildlife Refuge Association in 1997. Heath then worked as the Washington State Policy Director at the National Audubon Society from 2001 to 2008. Following that, they served as a Policy Analyst at the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office from 2008 to 2009. Heath then joined the Washington State Department of Natural Resources as the Director of Legislative and External Affairs from 2009 to 2012. Since 2012, they have been working at Island Conservation, initially as the Director of Communications and later transitioning to the role of Director of Philanthropy (interim) and Communications. Heath has also served as the Director of Marketing and Communications and Director, Government and Public Relations at Island Conservation. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Philanthropy Officer at Island Conservation, where they focus on raising funds and building partnerships to restore island-marine ecosystems and address the impacts of climate change.

Heath Packard earned a BA in Biology and Philosophy from the State University of New York at Oswego between 1991 and 1995. Heath then went on to complete an MA in Philosophy and Social Policy at American University from 1996 to 1999.
