Megan Wood, MBA, CHFP has a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in various roles and organizations. Megan is currently serving as the Finance Director at Island Health since September 2022. Before that, they worked as a Finance Controller at Salem Health from January 2021 to September 2022. Megan also held positions at St. David's HealthCare, where they were a Manager of Accounting from June 2018 to January 2021 and a Senior Staff Financial Accountant from April 2014 to June 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Financial Accountant at Factory Mattress Sales from March 2013 to April 2014. Megan Wood holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Western Governors University, which they obtained between 2016 and 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting and Finance from the same institution, completing the program between 2012 and 2014. Megan Wood has also obtained various certifications, including being a Certified Healthcare Finance Professional from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) in 2022. Additionally, they have certifications in HFMA Operational Excellence and HFMA Business of Health Care, both obtained in 2022. Megan has also earned the FOUNDATIONS OF LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE 1 and FOUNDATIONS OF LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATE 2 from The National Society of Leadership and Success in 2021. Furthermore, Megan Wood holds a Project + Project Management Certification from CompTIA, achieved in 2013.
