Kathy MacNeil has had extensive work experience in the healthcare sector. Kathy started their career at Capital Health in 2008, where they held the position of VP, People for seven years. In 2015, they joined Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority as the Executive Vice President, Quality, Safety and Experience. Kathy later became the Interim President and Chief Executive Officer, and eventually served as the President and CEO. In 2018, they moved to Vancouver Island Health Authority and continued their role as President and CEO.
Kathy MacNeil obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in the years 1980-1985. Kathy later pursued a Master's degree in Leadership in Health from Royal Roads University, completing it in the years 2009-2012. Additionally, Kathy MacNeil holds additional certifications including ICD.D from ICD-Rotman, Directors Education Program in 2019, and a Certified Health Executive (CCHL) from the Canadian College of Health Leaders.
