Sandy Wagner

Sandy Wagner, formerly known as Pfeffer, has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Starting in 1999, they worked as a Quality Assurance specialist at MDS Laboratory Services until 2003. From 2003 to 2007, they served as the Director of Educational Development at the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science, where they developed a network of professionals and coached them in creating educational material. Sandy then joined St. Mary's General Hospital in 2009 as a Charge Technologist, managing a team and ensuring the quality of laboratory services. In 2015, they became the Chief Technologist at Island Health - Vancouver Island Health Authority, overseeing lab services in multiple hospitals, including the largest cancer center in BC. Throughout their career, Sandy has demonstrated a commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement in quality and safety.

Sandy Wagner (formerly Pfeffer) completed a Post-Grad Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education and Teaching at OISE - Uof T from 2001-2003. Prior to that, they obtained an MLT degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Mohawk College from 1981-1984. Additionally, Sandy has pursued Management & Leadership Program at McMaster University and Facilitative Leadership at Schulich School of Business - York University, although the specific years and degree names are not provided.
