Sean Hardiman

Sean Hardiman has extensive experience in healthcare leadership and management. Sean has held various executive roles in different healthcare organizations, including Island Health, Provincial Health Services Authority, Fraser Health Authority, and Northern Health Authority.

At Island Health, Sean served as the Executive Director of Clinical Services Delivery and Executive Director of Medication Systems and Medical Informatics. In these roles, they were responsible for strategic planning, operations, and quality oversight of laboratory medicine, medical imaging, pharmacy, medication safety, and health informatics services. Sean managed large budgets and had significant personnel responsibilities.

Prior to Island Health, Sean worked as the Provincial Clinical Director of Cardiac Services for British Columbia, where they were responsible for system design, planning, and service delivery of cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, and advanced heart failure services across the province.

Earlier in their career, Sean held roles at Fraser Health Authority, Northern Health Authority, British Columbia Ambulance Service, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Merck Frosst Canada Ltd. These positions ranged from director-level roles in clinical operations and surgical services to healthcare management and sales roles in pharmaceutical companies.

Sean Hardiman has a diverse education history. Sean obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Population & Public Health from The University of British Columbia in 2023. Prior to this, they earned a Master's in Health Administration (MHA) from the same institution in 2002. In 2000, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Kinesiology and Psychology from the University of Victoria. Additionally, Sean obtained a Paramedic 1 Certificate from the Justice Institute of British Columbia - Paramedic Academy in 2000. Sean also holds additional certifications, including Fellow (FACHE) from the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2011 and Certified Health Executive (CHE) from the Canadian College of Health Leaders in 2010.
