Associate Medical Director at Islands Hospice

Ritabelle Fernandes currently serves as the Associate Medical Director at Islands Hospice since June 2022, while also holding the title of Commander in the US Navy Reserves since November 2014. Concurrently, as an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine since May 2011, Ritabelle Fernandes focuses on training caregivers and health professionals in aging, and directs the ECHO Geriatric Clinic and ECHO Care Homes. Additionally, Ritabelle Fernandes provides primary care to vulnerable populations at Kalihi Palama Health Center since August 2007 and previously worked as a physician at Kokua Kalihi Valley Health Center addressing the needs of low-income immigrant populations from 2001 to December 2014. Ritabelle Fernandes holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Juris Doctor from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa - William S. Richardson School of Law.
