Sanjay Kalra is a seasoned Information Security practitioner with over 20 years experience in all facets of information security discipline, including being a founding member of two information security ventures.

Information Security Media Group (ISMG) is the publisher of a series of information security, compliance, fraud and risk management related web-based media properties. The firm’s media properties, including BankInfoSecurity, HealthcareInfoSecurity, GovInfoSecurity, InfoRiskToday, DataBreachToday and CareersInfoSecurity, currently host the largest subscriber-base of Information Technology risk management professionals worldwide.

Kalra brings a strong background in Information Security operations and strategic planning from a range of financial services organizations. In his prior roles, he routinely advised senior management and boards of directors of financial services organizations on issues impacting the financial services industry due to Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Sarbanes-Oxley and Patriot Act.

During the early days of Internet-enabled applications and data centers, Kalra was responsible for Information Security strategy, planning and day-to-day operations of a Telecommunications Research consortium – Bell Communications Research (Bellcore), spearheading the information security program for Internet-enabled package tracking applications for one of the largest transportation companies and competitive shopping of insurance products over the Internet for the largest insurance underwriter in the US. As the Director of Information Security at Bellcore, Kalra oversaw the security activities throughout the corporation, as well as provided guidance on operational aspects of successful security technology implementations to Regional Bell Operating Companies. Prior to Bellcore, Kalra worked for the Private Banking and Investment Management IT divisions of Bankers Trust (Deutsche Bank) and J.P. Morgan.
