Matteo Villa

Senior Research Fellow at ISPI

Matteo Villa is a Senior Research Fellow at ISPI - Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale, where leadership of the Migration Programme and participation in the Europe and Global Governance Centre are key responsibilities. Since January 2010, Matteo has held various positions within ISPI, including coordination of the Energy Security Programme and management of the RAstaNEWS research project. Prior experience includes roles as a Research Assistant and Trainee at the University of Bologna, focusing on global energy trends for a NATO foresight project, and editorial work on the Geopolitical Atlas at Treccani. Matteo holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Politics from Università degli Studi di Milano, alongside a Master's in Political Sciences: International Relations and a Bachelor's in International Relations and National Security Studies from the same institution.
