Derek Shi

Derek Shi is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in event-based architecture and data processing. Since December 2017, Derek has served as a Senior Software Engineer at iSpot.tv, leading the design and implementation of systems leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, and Spark Jobs. In addition, Derek is the Principal Engineer at Habit Design®, contributing to a mobile application recognized by Apple Inc. Prior roles include Senior Software Engineer positions at Point Inside and Tack Local, where Derek developed real-time messaging systems and event-driven architectures. Derek is also the founder of Piik.me and Taropapa.com, showcasing entrepreneurial skills in mobile app development and financial sentiment analysis. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Technology Management from Washington State University and a Bachelor's degree in Finance with a Minor in Computer Science from Wuhan University of Technology.
