Muni Katz has served as the Executive Vice President of Strategy and Israel Affairs at IAI since May 2021. As part of his role Katz leads IAI in strategic planning vis-à-vis Israel’s defense establishment. Katz joined IAI after decades of substantial service in the IDF, in a wide array of operational roles. In his last role, between 2017 and 2020, Katz served in the IDF’s General Staff as the Commander of the Depth Corps. Prior to his appointment to Major General, Katz served in several key roles as Commander of the IDF’s National Land Training Center, as Commander of the 91st Division in northern Israel, the Depth Corps Chief of Staff and reserve division commander. Prior to these roles, Katz served as Commander of the Givati Infantry Brigade and Commander of the Special Forces Unit, Shaldag, and other distinguished field command roles.
Katz holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics from the Hebrew University, an EMBA in Business Management from Tel Aviv University, an MA in Political Science, Security and Strategy from the National College of Defense and Haifa University. He also participated in a wide array of management and command training programs including a course for directors and senior managers at Tel Aviv University, and was a Research Associate at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy in Washington D.C.
