Tom Flanagan

Chief Transformation Officer at ISSQUARED

Tom Flanagan is currently the Chief Transformation Officer at ISSQUARED. Tom has previously held various executive positions at IBM, Amgen, and MCI.

Tom Flanagan enlisted in the Navy in 1971. Tom served as the commanding officer of the USS Honolulu from 1985 to 1988. In 1995, they transitioned to the private sector, joining MCI as the CIO and SVP of Service Delivery.

In 2006, Flanagan joined Amgen as the Global CIO and head of procurement. Tom was later promoted to SVP and Head of Corporate Operational Excellence Initiatives. Flanagan was instrumental in leading Amgen through several successful transformation initiatives. In 2010, they were inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame.

In 2011, Flanagan left Amgen to join IBM as the VP, Global Relationship & SAP Partner. Tom spent five years at IBM before moving to ISSQUARED in 2016.

Tom Flanagan's educational career includes a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy, an MS in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master's Level Curriculum in National Security Decision Making, Strategy & Policy, Joint Maritime Operations from the U.S. Naval War College. Tom also has a Fellowship in National Security from Harvard Kennedy School and a Certificate in Financial Accounting from Harvard Business School Online. In addition, they have certification from the Academy Leadership in Leadership Excellence Course and Executive Coaching, IBM in IBM Design Thinking Practitioner, The IRONMAN Group in Finisher Ironman Triathlon World Championship, and US Navy in Certified Nuclear Engineer.

Tom Flanagan reports to Bala Ramaiah, President & CEO. They are on a team with Suchinth Kumar - Chief Revenue Officer, Richard Philips - Head of Managed Services, and Mridul Ganguly - Head of Middle East & Africa.
