Claudio Vicarelli is a Senior Researcher at ISTAT since January 2011, focusing on the microeconomic foundations of the Italian business cycle, including firms' export thresholds and the structural changes in the industrial system during crises, as well as the pandemic's effects on the business environment. Prior to ISTAT, Claudio held the position of Senior Researcher at ISAE from January 1999 to December 2010, where responsibilities included medium and short-term economic forecasts. Earlier experiences include roles as a researcher at Centro Europa Ricerche from September 1993 to December 1998 and as a research assistant at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei from September 1992 to August 1993, contributing to international economics and macroeconometric model development. Claudio holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Sapienza Università di Roma, obtained between 1984 and 1991, and completed a classical high school diploma at Liceo Ginnasio Orazio from 1979 to 1984.
