Şebnem Özdemir

Şebnem Özdemir graduated from Yıldız Technical University, Department of Mathematics. He completed two postgraduate studies at Istanbul University, one in Mathematics Education and the other in Informatics. He received his Ph.D. from Istanbul University, Department of Informatics. He was at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering in 2018 for his postdoctoral research. In 2019, he worked as a research collaborator at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL). With the machine learning model he developed in 2016, he was deemed worthy of the "Human Development Research Award" given by the Koç University UNESCO Chair. Dr. Özdemir has worked as an executive, consultant, and researcher in many national and international projects focused on data science and artificial intelligence. Especially since the beginning of 2018, he and his team have been carrying out deep learning-based application projects, which they call the "Deep Project" series, in various sectors. Among these, the Deep Classical Art Project, which focuses on Turkish-Ottoman art types in the works of artificial intelligence to produce art, has been met with interest in the country and abroad. Dr. Özdemir has many book chapters, articles, and patents published on national and international platforms focused on data science and machine learning. Dr. Özdemir has collaborations and provides consultancy services with domestic and international companies focused on artificial intelligence-based product development.
